Psychotherapist & Life Coach
Specializing in Relationships
My Educational Background & Professional Experience:
In 1997, I earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from The University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work and in 1992 I completed my undergraduate work at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, Business Administration, and Spanish.
I completed my graduate internship in psychotherapy at The Baylor Psychiatry Clinic and proceeded to work as a Houston psychotherapist at Intracare Psychiatric Hospital where I completed the necessary training and supervision to complete the exam to become licensed as an independent clinician in Texas. I have been an independent clinical practitioner as a Texas psychotherapist since 2000.
I have developed a diverse practice which has included consulting with Family Services of Greater Houston, Houston Independent School District, and the Mental Health and Mental Retardation Authority of Harris County. I work with a wide variety of client issues including anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, and chemical dependency. I apply practical interventions and help clients recognize underlying patterns and issues through a psychodynamic treatment approach combined with supportive, cognitive-behavioral interventions.
I am also an actress with over thirty films and many years of training. The work done to develop a character and study human behavior helps me be both a better actress as well as an empathetic, focused therapist.
